Liam Savage, News Editor
Liam Savage is the News Editor at the Columns. Liam is a Sophomore at Fairmont State University, double-majoring in National Security and Intelligence and Political Science. As the News Editor, Liam is responsible for leading comprehensive coverage of campus and community news, as well as managing news reporters. Liam also contributes original reporting on significant news events. Liam specializes in covering politics and local government.
Liam is also a Freelance Reporter and writes for the Times West Virginian. Over the summer of 2025, Liam reported on the leadership and budget crisis in Terra Alta, WV, his hometown. Liam’s first article for the Times West Virginian, “Preston County Town has crisis of leadership amid budget snafu,” performed in the top three stories upon its publication and was shared by the West Virginia Press Association.
Liam is the President of the Roundtable Club at Fairmont State University, a club that encourages civil dialogue for many areas of interest. Liam is also an active member of the Fairmont State University Student Government Association, serving as a Sophomore Senator. Liam serves as the Vice Chair of the Rules and Bylaws Committee. Liam is also an active member of the National Security and Intelligence Student Association.
