Lovebird Book Reviews: Spring Semester Reads

Lovebird+Book+Reviews%3A+Spring+Semester+Reads

Hello readers! Welcome to Lovebird Book Reviews where I, Avary King, review/recommend the latest and greatest of everyone’s favorite genre: romance. This is a spoiler-free zone!

Hello fellow Lovebirds,

We are back and more stressed than ever! There is just something so tortuous about the first few weeks of school. Anguish. Despair. Horror. The air is filled with the faint smell of stress sweat and tears as many of us prepare for the first exams of the year. Ive already given up and will be permanently wearing sweatpants and hoodies every day to class. Im already sick of Chick-fil-A food. My smart watch tells me every day that Im lazy because I sit so much during the day. Between homework and class lectures let’s just say I am not getting my 10,000 steps in. But fear not my friends, while my eyes may be going crossed due to an astronomical amount of screen time, we still have hope. In my time at FSU I have had a lot of people ask me how I am able to manage schoolwork and continue to read so many books during the semester. And I always give them the same answer, reading books gives me something to look forward to. I sit in class, and I come home and do homework for hours. Just when I think my brain looks like a milkshake that has been sitting out for 3 hours, I grab one of my books and suddenly I am brought back to life. I would go insane without the warm embrace of my fictional characters, which is why reading is so important to my mental health. I think everyone needs to find something like that, whether it’s exercise, reading, baking, photography, or watching TV, everyone needs something that keeps them sane. So while this semester has just started (remember, it’s a marathon, not a sprint) I figured we all need to know that there is something to keep us going throughout the semester. For the first article of 2024, I have decided to list some releases that are hot off the press. All of these books are releasing in the month of February and some of them are already looking like they will end up on the Best of 2024list. Add these books to your TBR and allow their enchanting stories to distract you from the homework you should probably be working on!

This is the rating system I try to follow for consistency. In all honesty, I will only recommend books that I like because I consider all readers my friends, so most of the books I recommend will be 3-5 stars because that means I truly enjoyed them and would read again.
