Maroon Mania was the kickoff to Falcon basketball. The event featured both the men’s and women’s basketball teams. It was a great way to introduce the teams and to get the fans excited for the upcoming season that is set to start in a couple of weeks.

There were a few different games and competitions for the fans to compete in to try to win gift cards. A drawing was held to select the contestants. The first competition was a game of knockout. The fans in the stands were excited to see the winners and if one of them would be one of their friends.

For the next game, the fans that got to play were selected by Junior guard Trey Washenitz. For this game, the contestants were put on two different teams. The two teams had to race against each other to make a layup at the other end of the court. During the race, the contestants had to put on a jersey that was at the free throw line, a pair of shorts that was at the half court line, and a pair of shoes that were at the other free throw line, then go and shoot a layup. Some of the players from both the men’s and women’s teams joined in to play this game with the fans.

The last game was a head-to-head game between two of the fans. The two playing the game had to spin in circles on a sweat mop to make themselves dizzy and then go shoot and make as many shots as they could before the time ran out. The person who made the most shots at the end won. The fans watching this competition had a laugh watching their friends struggle to shoot the ball after getting so dizzy.

In between each of the games, some of the players from both the men’s and women’s teams were introduced. After all the games were finished, a few of the players on the men’s basketball team tried to hype up the crowd by attempting some flashy dunks, starting with an impressive windmill dunk by Isaiah Sanders.

To finish the night, all the students in the stands were invited down onto the court. Each student tried to make a half-court shot to win AirPods. The first two students to make the shot were the lucky ones to get to take a new pair home.

All in all, it was a fun and exciting way to start the year for the team. The fans are engaged and excited for the new season, which starts on November 11th.
