The upcoming Kestrel event promises to be a unique and exciting celebration for the Fairmont State community.
According to Professor Donna Long, “This Celebration will be a little different.” In addition to readings by Kestrel contributors Rick Campbell, Jan Karetnick, and Chris Nelson, the event will also feature a special reading by Robert Powers, Kestrel’s new Fiction Editor Dr. Powers, who recently joined the Humanities faculty, will be making his debut at this event.
The celebration will take place on Friday, April 4. A panel discussion on writing will kick off the festivities from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. in JH 303 followed by a reception and readings from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Frank & Jane Gabor West Virginia Folklife Center. All events are free and open to the public, for anyone to come and enjoy.
Kestrel, which was created at Fairmont State in 1993, continues to publish an impressive collection of poetry fiction, creative nonfiction, reviews, and visual art. For more information, contact Dr. Donna Long at [email protected].
