A child is born into the world in a little body that has limited strength, limited motor skills, an inability to communicate, and is dependent on those who are either parents or caretakers. These newborn babies are supposed to be received with love and educated in the ways of God in order to obtain everlasting life as they are a light for others in their pursuit of obtaining joy, love, and peace. Proverbs chapter 22, verses 1 – 6 (KJV) says “A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, And loving favour rather than silver and gold. The rich and poor meet together: The Lord is the maker of them all. A prudent man forseeth the evil, and hideth himself: But the simple pass on, and are punished. By humility and the fear of the Lord Are riches, and honour, and life. Thorns and snares are in the way of the froward: He that doth keep his soul shall be far from them. Train up a child in the way he should go: And when he is old, he will not depart from it.” A good name is beneficial to obtain God’s favor. We must interact with one another, no matter what class of life or level we’ve obtained through the spirit. The spirit of God will reveal what’s evil and what isn’t so where we can avoid being caught up in foolishness and trickery by giving up our opportunity for eternal life. Many obstacles will come in front of us to prevent it from being received and nurtured to fulfillment. If we were taught these ways as a child, it would be embedded within us throughout our days and can be passed on to the next generations.
These are the first steps to obtain God’s favor and overcome obstacles in our lives. The Bible speaks about human interactions with Jehovah in the spirit and the physical. There were always obstacles placed in front of many that were meant to bring the downfall of a community or race. When evil and evil doers revealed themselves in a time of chaos through killing, stealing, and destroying, Jehovah Nissi provided a faithful servant to reveal the promise in the actions of those people through their faith in Him. Psalm chapter 23, verses 1 – 6 (KJV) says “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: For thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”
Psalm 23 was written by David. David was called by God and planted as the youngest child of ten siblings being made of eight boys and two girls. He was in charge of tending to the sheep and had to kill a lion and a bear during this time in his youth. Everything he did with words and actions were in preparation for what God wanted to bestow upon him, and that was to lead God’s people to a better place.
Saul and David were meant to meet one another for a grand purpose. Saul was the king of Israel and David was a harp player and armor bearer for the king when he was first promoted in the Army. He would play melodies to soothe the spirit of Saul when evil and hatred filled his heart. Since David received the favor of God, he also received the favor of the people and of King Saul. The first battle David got to partake in was against Goliath and his soldiers. All the Israelite soldiers feared the giant and wouldn’t go out and fight against him one on one, but David knew that God wouldn’t let him parish at the hands of a Philistine. With a slingshot in hand, he slayed Goliath and received favor from even his enemies. This made Saul mad and envious of David because the songs the people used to sing about him have been changed to the name of David. Saul hated that the person who would give his life for him and was anointed by God in the same manner as he was by Samuel the prophet. The stories are similar, but the difference comes in with how they acted accordingly to the message of God.
Acts chapter 13, verses 20 – 23 (KJV) says “And after that he gave unto them judges about the space of four hundred and fifty years, until Samuel the prophet. And afterward they desired a king: and God gave unto them Saul the son of Cis, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, by the space of forty years. And when he removed him, he raised upon them David to be their king; to whom also he gave their testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfill all my will”. Saul turned a deaf ear to what God was saying and everything was taken away because he walked a different path that God needed him to take to achieve what was beneficial for all.
John chapter 10, verses 27 – 28 (KJV) says “My sheep will hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand”. We must understand the voice of God by understanding who He is by what He does. We also have to be studious in every aspect of life because Satan doesn’t play fair in the battles we face. The fear of God is showing love towards him, because we fear that we won’t be abiding in HIs love and protected from our enemies. So, IYKYK: if you know you know, because if God is with you, who can be against you, as mentioned in Romans 8: 31.
