Fairmont State vs. UNC Pembroke Predictions
Last year when Fairmont State Football reached this point of the season, we were in a similar situation. Beginning the year off with a 0-3 start, but this should not affect how we outlook the remainder of the season. We face off against UNC Pembroke on September 24th, 2022 at home. In my previous prediction, I had us winning this game, and I still believe this despite our record currently being 0-3. The issue I see primarily in our Falcons is closing out games. Our last two losses were within one possession. I had us coming to win this game within one possession. Last year this game marked a three-game winning streak. I see this sparking a winning streak, but it will not end at three.
The senior players are performing better at this point in the season compared to the previous year based on their numbers rising. They are finally in the rhythm they need to get a lasting winning impact.
I see the score resulting in 21-14, which is ifferent from the 38-28 score I had previously predicted. I have our leading rusher, Myles Miree, having a breakout game with 70+ rushing yards and 35+ receiving. I am sure he will explode for over 100 yards combined and at least one score. I am predicting that Myles will be the defining factor on our offense in this matchup. On the defensive side of the ball, I have Brocton Blair stepping into a huge role in the backfield to limit what UNC Pembroke has to offer. No doubt in my mind I see he will have at least 2 tackles for losses under his belt.
