The NEST at Fairmont State University

The NEST, the student food bank, on the 2nd floor of the Falcon Center at Fairmont State University has seen a lot of growth in recent years and months. They plan to continue their mission of “providing students in need with food and other resources” and strive for even more growth.  The NEST is open to all current students, but they would like to see a student ID when picking up items.

Recently, the NEST had a donation food drive during the week of October 12thThe organization collected a total of 92 bags of goods and $220 in donations

“Our shelves are very full, and we encourage students to stop in and come grab food as needed!” stated Robin Yeager, Director of the Falcon Center, after the success of the food drive.

Everyone is highly encouraged to donate food and supplies during hours of operation throughout the week. The NEST’s hours of operation are Monday: 10:00 a.m.-12:45 p.m. & 2:00-9:00 p.m. Tuesday: 1:00-9:00 p.m. Wednesday: 10:00 a.m.-12:45 p.m. & 2-8 p.m. Thursday: 1:00-9:00 p.m. Friday: 10:00 a.m.-12:45 p.m. & 2:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday: 12:00-4:00 p.m. Sunday: 3:00-7:00 p.m.

Ready-made meals, hygiene products, such as toothpaste and soap, and laundry supplies are popular items for many students that are using the NEST currently.

Students can submit suggestions for items that they may want to Yeager’s email, [email protected].  The NEST wants to help every student at Fairmont State University, and this is a way of doing just that.
