First Falcons w/PRIDE Meeting for Spring 2020

On Tuesday January 28, 2020 from 12:30 to 1:15 Falcons w/ Pride held their first meeting of the semester.
During the meeting Director Lars Lehmann disclosed that after this semester he will be stepping down from his position as director. Following this announcement, the director, assistant director, and the panel members were introduced to the group. Meeting topics covered upcoming events, fundraising ideas, and the delegation of responsibilities.
The main events discussed were the PRISM conference and the possibility of another movie night. On February 15th WV Wesleyan is hosting the “WV Wesleyan PRISM Conference” from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and they extended an invitation to Falcons w/ Pride to attend the conference but the decision to attend wasn’t finalized at the meeting. PRISM is WV Wesleyan’s LGBT advocacy group. After some discussion, the group turned their attention to holding another movie night. In the fall, they hosted a “Halloween Movie Night” where they watched “Beetlejuice” and “The Rocky Horror Picture Show”. They will be doing another movie night sometime after Valentine’s Day, so they brainstormed some movies they could watch. One of the movies they picked was “Love, Simon”. Members were encouraged to email the director with any more movie suggestions.
Panel members, Shay Hess and Zettie Bowling , bought an LGBTQ+ pride flag for the organization and presented it to the director at the meeting.
