Nate Jackson and The Fortes Live from The Falcon Center
On March 28th students were invited to enjoy entertainment by comedian Nate Jackson and musical trio, The Fortes. Free coffee and snacks set the tone for an evening of fun.
The Opening Act
The Fortes kicked off the evening by performing a mash-up of popular hits. One of the many popular hits performed was Vance Joy’s “Riptide.” The Fortes explored the acoustic melodies of different hit songs by strumming their ukuleles.
Nate Jackson Takes the Stage
Nate Jackson is popular comedian, having traveled from outside West Virginia. As a cast member, Jackson appeared on season eight of the hit MTV show, “Nick Cannon Presents Wild ‘N Out.” At Fairmont State University, Jackson entertained a conference room full of students.
No crickets were present that evening. The students’ laughter was so loud and frequent, they seemed to laugh at almost every sentence Jackson spoke. Jackson also enjoyed his time at Fairmont State University stating, “I thought the crowd was actually dope” and “This was a really cool group of people.”
As for an audience member’s perspective, Megan Marchio stated, “It was very fun, I laughed a lot. I wasn’t expecting Nate to be so funny.” Unfortunately for Marchio, the content of the show was kept at a “C.” Marchio enjoyed the show but would have appreciated, “Wine and dirtier jokes.” Overall, the crowd responded to the performers with great enthusiasm, and the Bean Scene was a success.
